MAHA 2005 Fall Classic Report
After the blizzard at the Spring show I was hoping for beautiful weather in September and we were blessed with a gorgeous fall. Many loyal exhibitors attended this year’s fall show. The numbers were about the same as last year, and we had 147 horses entered. With a few changes we actually made a tiny profit this year. The most outstanding change was the addition of corporate sponsors. Brian Feuling did a great job in getting 7corporate sponsors and 2 coffee/donut sponsors. He made several large, attractive, laminated signs thanking them for their support; and Roy Johnson announced their names at regular intervals throughout the show. We cut some costs by having the officials stay at a less expensive motel, and generally tried to keep costs to a minimum.
No show is complete without the generous support of volunteers. I would like to thank the following people for helping make the 2005 Fall Classic a success:
Brian Feuling — for getting corporate sponsors and being Ringmaster
for a day.
Les Crowl — our regular Ringmaster extrordinaire
Shirley and Mike Theede and Sandy Feuling — for ribbons,
refreshments, and just generally keeping the show going.
Chuck Biersborn — our long time gate man
Toni Marie O’Daniel — barn manager, and my trusted
assistant
Jane Boots — for paying the bills, running errands and getting
the judge to and from the airport
And the following people that helped with ribbons, dressage, sporthorse, and anything else that needed doing: Jill Frieders, Laura Mickelson, Devon and Jason Schuster, Karen Otto, Linda Selchow, Julia LaFleur, Kristi Theede.
Also a huge thank you to our Corporate Sponsors: Unigraphics Systems, Minnesota Equestrian Center, Stillwater Equine Clinic, Houles Farm-Garden and Pet; Pferd Farrier Care Inc, Green Mill Restaurant and Wincraft Inc.
And thank you to our coffee and donuts sponsors: Hesten Park and Conway Arabians.
We are planning some changes to the 2006 fall show and an announcement
will be made soon. Thank you to all the exhibitors, sponsors
and volunteers for your continued support of the MAHA Fall Classic.
